The Elyrica program takes place in the lovelyfacilities of St. Mary School in Ridgefield, CT.  The building is fully air conditioned, has lots of convenient parking, and it’s very private, despite being close to town.

Ridgefield was founded in 1709. Though it is only 60 miles from New York City, Ridgefield retains its old New England, small town feeling, with a wide main street lined with beautiful period homes, and a charming downtown that is just 2 blocks from the Eyrica Program’s location.  There are many wonderful restaurants and a fabulous ice cream store there!

Ridgefield has a free concert series on Tuesday nights in Ballard park downtown. There are many great nature areas and hiking trails in town and Martin Beach on Old Pond Road.  Candlewood Lake is in neighboring Danbury and there are many other beaches on Long Island Sound in towns close by including Sherwood Island State Park in Westport. Ridgefield has a great movie theater, a lovely public Library that was recently expanded, a terrific contemporary art museum: The Aldrich, as well as the Historical Society and the Keeler Tavern Museum.  All are within a mile of Elyrica.

Many students attend Elyrica from out of the immediate area.  Carpooling is possible.  Elyrica doesn’t have overnight accommodations, but there are a number of hotels and inns in the immediate area.

We have also been successful in the past in finding housing for some students.  This has been with other Elyrica participants, or with musical families nearby.  Please contact us if you would like to explore that option.
